Family Picture & Doctors Appt...

Here is our first family picture..... Today we went to Payson's first doctors visit. The doctor said that his jaundice looks great and gave us some advice about his gas issues. The only concern was that Payson has lost quite a bit of weight. He is giving me a week to supplement with pumped breast milk or formula if I choose. So please pray or send positive thoughts our way regarding Payson's gas and weight.
*At the doctors office- can you tell Paul is tired?*

He looks so cold and sad on the exam table! :( Poor little guy! I love the first family pic. It's adorable. Hopefully pumping works out for you. Miss you guys and can't wait to see you in July!

he is such a cutie pie!!! So glad to hear his jaundice levels are doing well!!! Don't get too scared over his weight loss sweetie. Tegan went through the same thing, at her one week check up she had lost an entire pound. Most pediatricians dont take into account the amount of fluid we mommy's are pumped full of before an unplanned c-section, everything we take in goes to the baby so he too was pumped full of fluids right before birth. I remember my nurse making me cry because of Tegan's weight loss and telling me I had to supplement and that Tegan may not get to go home with me. It is very common for csection babies and I know he will be gaining weight before you know it, and it will never stop!!! Tegan was 7lbs 11oz at birth, she dropped down to 6lbs 10oz by one week old and now she is 16lbs!!! I will keep him in my thoughts!!!! You all make such a beautiful family!

My advice ( maybe you don't want it though LOL) is don't supplement. NURSE NURSE NURSE!!! Now that your milk is in the jaundice and weight will resolve themselves. Pumping won't help too much and formula certainly won't help with milk supply. They say the billirubin (sp?) levels are at their PEAK four days after birth. So, if he is four days out and they aren't dangerously high, they're more then likely not going to be.

So. Sit there, let yourself recover. Have that cousin of mine bring everything you need to you in bed. Don't allow any stress to enter your world and just nurse that sweet little boy all day long!!

By the way....he is so so so SO cute! Love his cheeks. Again.
