Poor Puppy...

This is Mylie's sister, Madison. She lives with her daddy, Corona. Her owner, Mary, just sent me these pictures. I guess Madison jumped out of her arms and landed on a parking stub, breaking her femur bone. She went to the doctor and they put a cast on her leg, but I guess it wasn't healing so she needed surgery. Now she has pins in her leg while it heals. Mary said that she is feeling much better and running around with her cast on.
They signed her cast! Too Cute.

Our Little Secret...

Today we went to the doctor to find out the gender of our baby. We now know whether we will be parents to a son or daughter. After our appointment we got a 3D/4D ultrasound, performed at a different location, where the gender of our baby was definitely confirmed. It was the most anticipated and surreal moment of my life so far. I couldn't believe it was finally me and that it was finally us going through these unforgetable moments. I have been waiting for this my whole life. Everything in my pregnancy has changed now that I can add one more piece to the puzzle of what our little baby will become. Now we can say "she" or "he" instead of referring to the baby as "it". We can say its name out loud too, but we have to be careful not to slip before Christmas. Keeping this secret will be harder than I thought. Check out the pictures and videos from today.

Another Big Move...

Today we got the call that we've been waiting for. Paul received news that he has been chosen to work at the Border Patrol Headquaters in Washington DC. We are very excited and anxious to move so we can get settled in before the baby arrives. We don't know all the details yet, but it sounds like we should be moving out there very soon.

Today...

Here is a current picture of my baby bump. I look a little more round compared to a couple of weeks ago. We are still crossing our fingers that we will find out the gender of the baby this friday. We also already have names picked out, but everyone has to wait until Christmas to find out the gender and the name!!
This is an update to Paul's birthday. After many failed attempts to order his gift online, we finally found his Ohio State dartboard while visiting family in Columbus. Paul hand-crafted a wooden backboard to protect our wall from the darts. He measured, cut and painted the Ohio State logo in just one day.

My Baby Bump...

Today I am 13 weeks 4 days pregnant and a lot has changed for me in the last five days. All of my books say that when you get to the second trimester you feel so much better and have a boost of energy.... boy is that true. I finally have my appetite back (which I don't know if that is a good thing because I haven't gained any weight so far) and I actually feel like going places. My body is changing too. All of my family and friends know that I am not the smallest person so it is hard to tell but I actually have a baby belly now. I have already bought some maternity clothes and they are so comfortable. I can't believe I am actually doing this, but below is my first belly picture. I know that I must look much farther along than almost 14 weeks. Oh well. Anyway, Enjoy!

Baby Update...

Today I am 12 weeks and 4 days pregnant and we had an appointment with our doctor. We really like him because he is young, funny, answers all of my crazy questions and puts up with my paranoia. He says everything looks great and I am measuring right where I should be. We also heard the heartbeat and it was 160 bpm. Somedays I feel pregnant and some I don't. I barely have an appetite, I go to the bathroom constantly and my clothes are already getting tight. We go back to the doctor on December 19th to hopefully find out if we are having a boy or girl. I can't wait to design our baby's nursery. Friday we are headed off to Ohio for a post-Thanksgiving visit with Paul's family. We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving with their family.

Baby Boy or Baby Girl?

Just for fun I decided to look into old wives tales and myths that predict the sex of the baby.
Here are the results:

Chinese Calendar: BOY

Wedding Ring Test: BOY

Heartbeat Myth: GIRL

Cravings: BOY

My Gut Feeling: GIRL

Hopefully, in a little over three weeks we will find out if we are having a boy or girl. I can't wait! I don't care either way, but for Paul's sake I am hoping for a baby boy.

More Ultrasound Pics...

Today I am 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant. Here are a couple ultrasound pictures from the visit to a specialist for routine screening tests. The ultrasound technician said all off the baby's measurements looked great. We had to keep poking at my belly to encourage the baby to move into different positions. Now Paul thinks it is funny to poke my belly knowing that it affects the baby. Once again, it was really cool to see my baby move inside of me. I can't wait to find out what we are having.Above is a good shot of the baby's profile.

The baby looks like an alien in this picture. (front view)

Our First Baby...

Paul and I are extremely excited to announce that we are expecting our first baby. I am currently 10 weeks and 4 days along with a due date of June 5th, 2009. At our appointment today we actually saw our baby kick and move. It was very emotional.
We were hesitant to tell people right away because we had a miscarriage back in July. Now that we are farther along than our first pregnancy, we felt the time was right. Below is a progression of the ultrasounds that we've had so far. It is amazing to see the difference in such a short amount of time.

Paul's Birthday...

Paul's 32nd Birthday was yesterday. I made him a cake and decorated it like a hockey jersey. It was my first time using fondant icing. The jersey was supposed to be white and red, but the red turned out orange. The buttercream icing was also supposed to be red, but turned out pink no matter how much coloring I added. I dont think I did that bad considering it was my first attempt.

Recent Events...

This weekend Paul and I went to a Florida Panthers hockey game. We made this poster for two hockey players that recently got traded from Phoenix to Florida. If you know the game of hockey then you'll get the poster.

This is picture I took with Allison DuBois at a seminar she gave in Fort Lauderdale last week. She is the psychic that inspired the show Medium. Many people attending the seminar received readings and it was beyond amazing. She has a true gift. Even though I did not receive a reading, I had a great time. I look forward to attending another one of her seminars.

Our Belated Honeymoon...

Better late than never..... On our honeymoon cruise, we were suppose to go the the Bahamas but due to hurricane Hanna our itinerary was changed to Cozumel, Mexico. It was great to get away and we had a wonderful time.

We Moved...

Our Puppies...

In case you haven't figured it out yet, we love our puppies. Maggie and Mylie are a huge part of our life and we couldn't picture our life without them.

Post Wedding Event...

The day after our wedding, our family and friends enjoyed a chartered snorkel trip in the Florida Keys. It was a great way for everyone to get to know each other. We all had a great time.

Our Wedding Day...

February 29th, 2008

"When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

After four years of dating, Paul proposed at sunset on a beach in the Florida Keys. Our wedding at the Big Pine Key Baptist Church was small and intimate, just the way we planned. Surrounded by family and a few friends, we made a commitment before God to spend the rest of our lives with each other.
