Payson's Surgery & Elf On The Shelf...

Hello Everyone! I've been a little under the weather for the last week, so I got behind on my blogging. Last Tuesday, Payson had surgery to replace the tube in his left ear because it was blocked. He only had to get put under because, at his age, it is too hard for them to sit still for the procedure. His surgery was quick, easy and painless, and Payson was back to his normal self by the afternoon.

Getting prepped.

My sweet boy.
The anesthesiologist let him play
with the cherry scented mask
and his doctor initialed by
the correct ear.
He loved his nurse who made very funny voices.
Passed out after surgery.
Bribing him with a popsicle to wake up.

When Payson got home from his surgery, there was a very special package for all of the kids to open. The early present from Santa was Elf on the Shelf!!! Our new elf's name is Eddie and his job is to tell Santa if the kids are being naughty or nice. So far, I have caught myself many times reminding the kids that Eddie is watching them and it seems to work pretty well. Each morning they look forward to finding Eddie in his new spot for the day and, other than holding him right after he came out of the box (we hadn't read the book yet), none of the kids have touched him.
